Who we are
Gilgit Baltistan Discoveries is the official travel guide and booking platform of Explore Nagar Travels Pvt Ltd — a registered Gilgit-Baltistan local tour operator.
Your Adventure Companion.
Founded in 2016, Explore Nagar Travels is among the earliest local tour operators in Gilgit-Baltistan — running trips in the north since the days when few local operators existed. That early start is why the guides on this site read the way they do: they come from years of actually operating in these valleys, not from researching them at a distance.
We started this guide for a simple reason: most of what travellers read about the north of Pakistan before a trip is thin, outdated, or wrong about the basics — which valley a place is actually in, how long a road journey really takes, what a trek truly costs. So we write the guides we wished existed when we started travelling these valleys ourselves: honest, practical, and checked against the ground, not copied from other websites.
Today the guide covers the whole of Gilgit-Baltistan — Hunza, Nagar, Skardu, Ghizer, and Astore & Diamer — with over 200 guides on destinations, treks, seasons, costs, and packing. Hunza and Nagar are separate districts and valleys, and we name every place in the district where it actually lies.
What we do
We write guides. Destination guides, trek guides (K2 Base Camp, Rakaposhi Base Camp, Rush Lake, Fairy Meadows), seasonal guides like the best time to visit Hunza Valley, and the practical pages travellers actually need — how to get somewhere, what a trek costs, what to pack. Where a place is real, we show real, properly credited photographs — never an AI image passed off as a real place. We run trips. Through Explore Nagar Travels, the same team behind this guide operates guided treks and custom tours across Gilgit-Baltistan: signature itineraries for 2027, bookable treks, cultural journeys, and conservation-linked trophy hunting experiences. We run trips for families, corporate groups, university groups, and honeymoons. Tell us where you want to go on our Plan My Trip page and we build the trip around you. We keep it honest. Costs are given as ranges with their basis, road times reflect real driving conditions, and when we don’t know something, we say so. If a guide is out of date, we refresh it rather than leave it standing.
